Yesterday I shared some of my fave fisheye shots of Cage The Elephant from my latest concert at the Orpheum. Today I have a special Cage the Elephant recap video for you plus a few more shots. As you know I took way too many photos which is why I decided to split these posts for you. Besides, who’s gonna complain about seeing these guys back to back on the blog? HA! I honestly cannot wait for my next concert. Live music is simply the best! Who’s one of your favorite bands to see live? I think these guys are on the top of my list. Looking forward to their next album!

I had the chance to photograph Cage the Elephant Friday night at the historic Orpheum theater in downtown Madison. It was my second time there and once again the show was out of this world. Cage the Elephant killed it on stage and it was a night I’ll never forget. Matt Shultz’s voice was unreal. Take a look at some of my favorite shots taken with my fish eye lens. I’ll share more pics tomorrow with a special recap. Have you been to the Orpheum? Have you seen Cage The Elephant live? You must do both!

Okay folks, I’m going to be brutally honest. I secretly hate all these national [enter anything here] days. I don’t know who started it or who even makes them up but it’s seriously getting out of control. I mean, yesterday supposedly it was “national hug your cat day”… Stop! We gotta stop! I’m seriously afraid HA!
With that said, I’ve never seen so much anticipation for one of these made-up holidays like today’s. National Donut day has taken over Instagram. Heck, it has taken over the internet. Not sure how much this craze is going to last but this will be the only one I’ll celebrate because I love donuts. In fact, I think I’d go along with any of these made up holidays to have an excuse to eat a doughnut… or two! What do you think? How do you feel about these fake holidays? Please be honest! Happy Friday loves!

I’m wasting no time tackling my Summer food bucket list items! YAY! This watermelon feta appetizer was A M A Z I N G. The first time I tried these two together was last year in L.A while my best friend was visiting. It was some kind of appetizer salad and we were both fighting for it at the end. It was to die for. I’ve been obsessed ever since. After looking for inspiration on Pinterest to try it at home I was a bit overwhelmed with the options so I kept it simple. I added fresh basil to the mix and drizzled a little bit of olive oil at the end and wow! Just wow! I guess I’ve been on a watermelon kick lately. To make these, simply slice your watermelon into little squares. Place a square on a toothpick with a feta cube on top. Finish it up with a little fresh basil. Once you have a bunch ready, drizzle them with olive oil. These will go fast so make as much as possible! I sure wish I had made more HA! Have you had these before? What do you like mixing your watermelon with?

I took my fish eye lens out to play yesterday. Last time I shared some of these was back in 2011 (crazy!). I snapped these pics while driving around town. The “love” mural made me think of L.A for some reason. I just love the funky effect a fish eye lens gives to any photo. Can’t wait to bring this lens into a concert. What about you? Aren’t these fun? Happy hump-day loves!
